Petro de Luanda and BantuBet have announced a strategic partnership, valid for two sports seasons, uniting the club with one of the leading betting operators in Angola. The agreement was confirmed separately by both entities, through a statement from Petro de Luanda sent to the TARGETING newsroom and a post by BantuBet on its social media channels. Neither institution disclosed the financial terms of the deal.
Under the sponsorship agreement, the BantuBet brand will now appear on the sleeve of Petro de Luanda's football shirt, boosting its visibility across all the club's matches throughout the two-season contract. This move brings an end to the partnership previously in place between the "tricolor" club and the betting house 888bets.
According to Petro de Luanda's statement, the partnership establishes a new connection between the club and BantuBet, creating a platform for the development of communication initiatives, fan experiences, and brand activations, both across the club's digital channels and within the various spaces and moments associated with Petro de Luanda. Throughout the two seasons, both entities plan to carry out joint activation and communication initiatives, aiming to create interaction and engagement moments with fans and to enhance the presence of both brands.
For Petro de Luanda, bringing BantuBet on board as a partner fits into its strategy to enhance the value of its commercial assets and build partnerships focused on creating value for the club, its partners, and its fan base, known as the "Nação Tricolor". The club also links this deal to the broader development of its commercial ecosystem through strategic partnerships, distinctive content, and experiences that bring the institution closer to its community.
On BantuBet's side, the partnership is described as an opportunity to strengthen the brand's presence in the Angolan sports landscape and get closer to one of the country's largest fan communities. In its own statement, the betting company highlights that the initiative represents “more than just a presence in football”, serving also as a way to stay closer to supporters and closely follow the moments that shape national sports culture, linking the decision to the winning history of Petro de Luanda, one of the most decorated clubs in Angolan football.
The partnership is part of a broader trend of sports betting operators expanding their presence alongside Angolan clubs, seeking to leverage the strong emotional bond fans have with their teams to build proximity and brand recognition—a trend that has been gaining momentum in the country's sports and advertising landscape.
